    Occupational Medicine

One of the major goals at Sutter Regional Medical Foundation's Occupational Medicine Program is to practice preventive medicine, helping employers and employees reduce work-related injuries. Our occupational medicine professionals focus on three major functions:

    • Pre-employment activities. These include everything from performing drug tests and conducting physicals and lifting tests to fitting employees for protective masks.
    • Patient assessment and treatment. This involves employers sending employees with work-related ailments to a designated occupational medicine group.
    • Preventive care. This can occur on a one-to-one basis with patients and in group settings at workplaces that have requested on-site services.

    Here For Local Businesses
At SRMF we offer employers both preventive health care and medical services. The team’s understanding of the workers’ compensation system is a significant benefit for employers.

Many of the companies that contract with SRMF for occupational medicine services are in so-called blue-collar industries, and we have a growing number of white-collar businesses. Ergonomic issues can lead to muscular problems and conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome.

Our goal is to prevent injuries from occurring in the first place, but if they do happen, we’re well-prepared to treat patients, both within our group and throughout our extensive network. After an injury, our goal is to get employees back to work as soon as possible.
